Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B or native Shopify B2B?

In short

Wholesale Helper's app is discount-based: wholesale prices are discounts applied to retail prices, from $24.99 a month, with guest (no-login) discounts, multi-currency and POS wholesale pricing on higher plans. Native B2B is catalog-based: buyers log in as a company and see catalog prices, with draft orders and net terms included. If you sell wholesale without logins, or at POS, check those two first.

Discount-based vs catalog-based wholesale

This app gives wholesale buyers a discount off retail, applied when they're tagged into a group, or even as a guest with no login1. Native Shopify B2B works differently. A buyer logs in as a contact at a company, and the catalog assigned to their location sets the price before any discount runs2.

The catalog approach is cleaner for accounting, because the order shows a wholesale price, not a retail price minus a discount. The discount approach is more flexible for open, no-login trade pricing. Which one you need comes down to whether your buyers have accounts.

Cases where the app is the better tool

  • You give wholesale prices to visitors without accounts, for example at trade shows via a discount link.
  • Your price breaks are based on order value, not quantity.
  • Your wholesale buyers buy in person through Shopify POS and the app's POS pricing is what your staff use.

How we'd switch you to native

Part of the Counter Switchover. The app stays live until every buyer's price matches.

  1. Export groups, discount rules and per-customer overrides.
  2. Turn % groups into catalogs with % adjustments; turn overrides into fixed catalog prices.
  3. Recreate draft-order invoicing and payment terms natively.
  4. Run price checks for each buyer, and test POS separately if you sell in person.
  5. Remove the app's discount codes and widgets, then uninstall.
