Terms, in plain language
These are the terms every Move, Counter and Standing Order runs on. The written quote in your Basecamp project sets the specific unit, price and launch-ready date; where it differs from this page, the quote wins.
Payment
- Units under $5,000 (Off the Rack Move, Counter Setup) are paid 100% upfront.
- Units of $5,000 and up: 50% to book the start slot, 50% when the store passes your acceptance review and is ready to transfer. The ownership transfer is sent once the second payment clears.
- The Standing Order is billed every 4 weeks in advance by card.
- All prices are in USD. Shopify plan and app subscriptions are paid by you, directly to the vendor. Every build uses Horizon, so there's no theme licence.
The Start Line and approvals
The clock starts on the first business day after payment, the completed intake form, old-platform admin or API access, and brand assets are all in. Delays on your side pause the clock day for day. The design-direction approval (Tailored) and each design round (Made-to-Measure) get 2 business days for your reply; after that, the clock pauses.
Revisions and changes
Feedback rounds are set by the unit: one consolidated round on staging for Off the Rack; one design-direction approval plus one round for Tailored; two design rounds plus one round for Made-to-Measure. Anything that doesn't match the agreed spec is a bug, fixed free, and doesn't count as a round. New requests after sign-off become a fixed-price Change Order or a Standing Order ticket.
Exclusions
Brand identity or logo creation; new copywriting beyond light tidying; photography and image editing; templates or sections beyond the unit's allowance; custom or private app builds; ERP or PIM integration builds (Made-to-Measure includes a handoff spec only); headless or Hydrogen builds; ongoing SEO or content work. Customer passwords can't be moved to any platform, so customers receive activation invites. Analytics history stays in your GA4 property.
Large catalogs
Above roughly 50,000 products or 250,000 orders, or with unusual source data, a fixed-price Data Change Order is added at quote time, before the clock starts.
Your store and our access
We build in a development store under our Shopify Partner account and transfer ownership at launch, or work as a collaborator in your existing store. After the final export there's a content freeze on the old platform, with a delta sync before launch. You name one decision-maker for approvals.
Standing Order
One active ticket at a time with an unlimited queue. Pause anytime; unused business days carry over for up to 60 days. Cancel before the next billing date with no penalty. Paid cycles aren't refunded, and work in progress is delivered through the end of the paid cycle.
The guarantee
If we miss the written launch-ready date for reasons on our side, we refund 5% of the unit price per business day late, up to 25%, with no claim form. It doesn't apply to pauses on your side, Shopify platform incidents or app-vendor delays. On the Standing Order, missing the one-business-day first response more than twice in a cycle makes the next cycle 25% off. Worked example on the guarantee page.
Communication
Each client gets a Basecamp project. During a Move or Counter there's a written update every business day and screen-recorded walkthroughs instead of meetings. One 15-minute intro call happens before purchase. We respond within one business day. See how we work.
