Shopify B2B setup: native wholesale, switched on properly

In short

Since April 2, 2026, Shopify's native B2B runs on Basic, Grow and Advanced, not just Plus. The Trade Counter sets it up in one of two ways: Counter Setup ($3,500, 5 business days) for stores starting wholesale or running it by email, and Counter Switchover ($6,500, 10 business days) for stores moving off a wholesale app, with every buyer's price checked before the switch.

What native B2B now includes below Plus

On Basic, Grow and Advanced you get company accounts with locations and contacts, up to 3 active catalogs shared across B2B markets, quantity rules and price breaks, payment terms from Net 7 to Net 90 or due on fulfillment, vaulted cards, ACH in the US, and draft orders sent as invoices12. Plus adds unlimited catalogs, catalogs assigned directly to a company location, deposits and partial payments.

A separate storefront and checkout experience for B2B buyers needs Advanced or Plus. B2B isn't available on Starter or Retail.

The price-parity check

Before a Switchover goes live we export every buyer's effective price from the old app and the new native catalog, then compare them SKU by SKU. Any mismatch is fixed or written down as an intended change before the old app is switched off. It's the step that stops a stockist from finding a different price the morning after.

Questions people ask

Do I need Shopify Plus for B2B?

No. Since April 2, 2026, native B2B is on Basic, Grow and Advanced with three catalogs. Plus adds unlimited catalogs, direct company assignment, deposits and partial payments.

Can retail and wholesale share one store?

Yes. Wholesale buyers log in and see their catalog prices and terms. On Advanced and Plus the storefront and checkout can also differ for B2B buyers.
