BSS B2B Wholesale Pricing vs native B2B: tax, forms and per-customer prices

In short

BSS is the most-reviewed app in this group (4.9 stars from 1,192 reviews when checked) and the cheapest way to get per-customer price lists ($99 Platinum) without Plus. Its Advanced plan ($49) adds tax-exempt handling, quantity increments and net terms. Native B2B covers terms, increments and tax exemptions per company location on every plan. Its limits are 3 catalogs below Plus and no conditional-logic application forms.

Tax exemptions are the sleeper feature

Wholesale buyers who resell are usually tax-exempt, and getting that wrong is expensive. BSS handles it at the cart on its $49 plan. Native B2B handles it on the company location: each location can carry a tax registration ID and exemptions, so the exemption follows the buyer into checkout without any app2. When we switch a store off BSS, the tax-exempt list is the first thing we import and the first thing we test with a real checkout.

Where BSS is genuinely ahead

Two things. First, price lists per customer without Plus: BSS Platinum allows them, native B2B below Plus stops at 3 catalogs. Second, smart forms with conditional logic, which native forms don't do. If either matters, BSS at $99 a month is far cheaper than Plus at $2,3005, and we'll say so.

When to keep BSS

  • You have more than 3 customer-specific price lists and aren't on Plus. BSS Platinum does that for $99 a month.
  • Your wholesale application needs conditional questions, for example asking for a resale certificate only from certain states.
  • Your ERP already pushes prices into BSS through its API and that integration works.

Moving from BSS to native, in five steps

  1. Export BSS pricing rules, the customer tags they target, and the tax-exempt list.
  2. Create companies and locations, with tax exemptions set per location.
  3. Build catalogs and move quantity increments into quantity rules.
  4. Rebuild the application as a form plus a Shopify Flow approval.
  5. Price-check each buyer, then switch off BSS rules and uninstall.
