SparkLayer vs native Shopify B2B: what the $49 to $299 buys you now
SparkLayer is a full wholesale layer with sales agents, quoting and accounting sync, priced by monthly B2B orders: 5 orders free, then 50, 100 and 150 orders on the $49, $149 and $299 plans. Native Shopify B2B has no order cap and is included on Basic and up, but allows only 3 catalogs below Plus and has no quoting. Keep SparkLayer if you rely on quotes, sales agents or more than 3 price lists without Plus. Otherwise native usually wins.
SparkLayer's pricing, as listed
Prices and plan features as shown on the Shopify App Store listing1. Charges are in USD and billed every 30 days.
| Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Up to 3 price lists, 5 orders/month, volume breaks, application forms, net terms, company users |
| Starter | $49/mo | Unlimited price lists, 50 orders/month, 1 sales agent, B2B discounts, B2B-only shipping rules |
| Growth | $149/mo | 100 orders/month, 2 sales agents, PDF invoices, stock locations, workflow automations |
| Pro | $299/mo | 150 orders/month, 5 sales agents, quoting, Xero and QuickBooks Online, API access |
The order cap is the number to watch
Most wholesale apps price by features. SparkLayer prices by B2B orders per month. The free plan covers 5 orders, Starter 50, Growth 100 and Pro 1501. A wholesale program doing 160 orders a month is past the top listed tier, which is worth a conversation with SparkLayer before it's a surprise on the bill.
Native Shopify B2B has no order cap. It's included on Basic, Grow and Advanced since April 2, 20262, and its limits are on catalogs instead: 3 active catalogs below Plus.

Where SparkLayer still earns its fee
We'd tell you to keep it if any of these is true:
- Your buyers request quotes and your team approves them. Native B2B has no quote object.
- You need more than 3 price lists and aren't on Plus. SparkLayer's paid plans have unlimited price lists.
- Your field sales team orders on behalf of buyers inside SparkLayer's agent tools every day.
Switching from SparkLayer to native, step by step
This is the Counter Switchover ($6,500, 10 business days). Nothing changes for buyers until the price check passes.
- Export SparkLayer price lists and customer assignments.
- Design the catalog structure: fold price lists into 3 catalogs with volume breaks, or keep them all on Plus.
- Import companies and locations with Matrixify, then assign catalogs.
- Price-check every buyer: log in as each one and compare 10 to 20 SKUs against the app's prices.
- Switch the theme to native B2B pricing, remove the SparkLayer app blocks, then uninstall.
